Discussing the military at the final presidential debate: Horses and Bayonets!

Obama responded to Romney's statement that he wants to add billions in defense spending to grow the US military by saying that Romney does not understand how the military works nowadays:

"We have fewer horses and bayonets because the nature of military spending has changed"

I have always wanted a Democrat to remind people how backwards Republicans really are. This picture would be a good reminder:

    LOL – that graphic is pretty funny actually.  The debate was only about 20% foreign policy, which gets back to my point that the election is about the economy.
     
    I agree that increasing defense spend is nothing short of insane.  The money is simply not there.  Also gets back to the point it's not just about the amount of money that is spent, but how effectively it is spent and this goes far beyond defense spending, but all spending.
     
    On Iran the sanctions are hurting big time and this is the right path.  A war with Iran will trigger regional and then probably global war so it is to be avoided at all costs.  Again the sanctions are working.  Give them more time and the mullahs will be in a world of hurt.
     
    As for who wins – we'll know in two weeks.
